An inescapable trap

Panfan is activated when the bathroom light is switched on, creating a vacuum so that pesky smells never get the chance to escape. (But don’t worry, you’ll barely feel a draft!)

Smell? What smell?

Panfan removes the microbiome and smell from the toilet bowl through the internal overflow pipe, then ventilates it out through the ceiling.

Silent hero

Since the Panfan system vents the odour through the ceiling, there’s no fan noise directly in the bathroom, so it’s practically silent!

Who installs the system?

The Pan Fan System can be installed by a licensed plumber and or an electrician.

How is the fan activated?

Depending on how the customer prefers the system to operate the fan can be activated in any one of the 3 following options:

- Wiring it to your light switch

- Having a separate fan switch or

- Linking the system to a movement sensor switch

At what stage can the Panfan be installed?

The Panfan’s 40mm or 50mm vent pipework is best installed during frame stage at rough-in of services, prior to the plasterboard/tiles going on the walls. This is because all pipework is installed in the wall cavity and ceiling space.

Once the plasterboard and tiles are installed the plumber can then fit the Panfan unit in the desired location along the vent pipework previously installed earlier. This can be done the same time the toilet is being fitted off in the wet area.

Can the Panfan be adapted to in-wall cisterns?

Absolutely, simply connect into the top of the cistern above the water level. The system works the same way by drawing air directly from the internal overflow pipe in the cistern.

Can the system be installed into an existing bathroom?

Yes, the system can be installed in any bathroom. The ideal time is during building or renovating. As every home residence is unique, difficulties may be encountered on some existing bathroom installations. You may wish to consult with a trained specialist or tradesperson prior to installation to ensure your home, building, or unit is compatible for the upgrade.

Can the fan be located under the floor?

Certainly, however, an alternative pipework configuration is required to prevent water contacting the fan.

I am a plumber about to install one, just want to make sure it can be vented to soffit below toilet? This is a 3 story build and pan fan will be going on a toilet on the second floor so plan is to run venting into the top of the cistern and elbow down and take it to soffit underneath, will this work?

Yes this will work as long as the Panfan is installed vertically or with a 45 degree bend to prevent condensation sitting in the fan housing.

Ensure the cistern water cannot flow down the vent pipe. Reconnect first elbow down be above the water line within the second floor cistern.

How do I know if the Panfan is working?

We always recommend to test the Panfan, straight out of the box when received. Plug it in to make sure it is working. Once it is installed in the roof, you can hold a piece of paper towel, in front of the vent pipe and if the Panfan is working, there will be suction.
